Hattie Conference

As I prepare to write reports I can't help but think back to the Hattie Conference-

my two big learnings:

-The Learning Pit

I found a moment that was pivotal during an RE lesson because I felt the students giving up because the question was too hard. We stopped and discussed the Learning Pit and behaviours and how to come out of it. The students responded really well and it showed them that learning isn't always easy and that it can take work. That doesn't mean learning is not taking place.

-How crucial timely feedback is....

I have been trying to implement the timely feedback and this was evident when I shared the marking criteria with the students for their writing last term.

I had the students reflect and discuss where we would go from here...such an eye opening experience for myself and the students- will definitely be doing it again!
