Having the opportunity to sit and reflect on my practice with a colleague has been most valuable. We each discussed refining our feedback process, including self, peer and teacher to student feedback. My particular focus was on building student capacity for self and peer feedback so as to develop autonomous learners that are confident and independent. Equipping students with the tools and having access to explicit learning intentions and success criteria is a key element of the process. Consequently, I am developing this area and working closely with the students, also requesting their feedback, so that I can develop a highly successful and efficient process. The students thus far have been very excited and engaged and my aim is to continue to tap into their enthusiasm and love of learning.
