Today's Staff Development Day on Assessment highlighted the need for me to vary my forms of assessment. Having said that in my role as an RFF teacher this can often be difficult as the opportunities do not always present themselves. At this stage I could realistically look at using self and peer assessment. It was however a valuable day highlighting the many forms of assessment possible within the classroom allowing students to show their learning growths in a variety of ways.
Differentiation is vital and it can just be a change of language to the core activity. Differentiation can be presented either through one activity or two so all students don't have to have the same assessment.
Worthwhile seeing how the Clinical Interviews work, how they are administered and assessed. Although it is unlikely I will be involved in their administration I have often heard them referred to in the classroom and staffroom so now I have more understanding of what they are.
Students own their data and the data informs teachers about impact of learning
Marking criteria very worthwhile tool. Opened my eyes to assessment which I had looked at completely differently prior to this.
Loved the structure of the day, short sharp worthwhile practical workshops!!!
