My goal for R.I.S.E week was to provide problem solving opportunities for all students. (for students to run session - not as teacher guided).
I believe my lesson was really engaging and was really targeted to my audience of my structured students. Students work really well with the open-ended problem and they were able to take time to process and work this out themselves without myself jumping in to give or help with the answer.
I believe i have achieved my goal this time around as students were given a very open-ended problem to solve on their own. Two of the students I worked with really showed what they knew and one student struggled which means I have a good starting point for my next lesson with her.
Sam was excellent with her feedback, saying that I have achieved my goal and showed me how to use this information gained from this lesson to plan my next lesson. Sam had lots of ideas on how I could improve this lesson, but overall was happy with the open endedness of the task and the minimal teacher input.
Thank you Sam for being my R.I.S.E partner and I can’t wait to embark on this journey again next year.
